If you’re staying overnight, Maram Resort Mamalakandam is only about 20 km from the sanctuary and gives you early access. From the resort you can catch a local bus heading toward Thattekad; the journey takes roughly 40 minutes and the fare is nominal. The bus stops close to the visitor center, so you can hop on right away. This keeps the travel time minimal and lets you enjoy the birdwatching before sunset.
