The best time is early autumn, September to October, when the heat subsides and the bamboo is still green but not too damp. The paths around Venu Vana are easy to navigate, but bring a small water bottle and a light raincoat just in case, as the monsoon can linger into early October. If you want to stay overnight nearby, Maya Heritage is only a short walk from the site and has good reviews.
