You might want to start the trek right after visiting the temple around 6 am so the morning mist clears early. In October February the trail stays mostly dry, but a light rain poncho is handy for sudden afternoon drizzle. After descending, the 15 km drive to Hidlumane Waterfalls is flat and takes under an hour, so you can hit the falls before sunset. If you need a base, Hotel Ambika International Byndoor is convenient. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.
