If you leave Saputara around 6 am you can reach the forest by 7:30, spend a couple of hours, then return to Saputara before dusk. A quick stop at Patang Residency after the forest will let you freshen up before heading back or staying overnight. The drive back is about the same time, so you’ll finish the day with enough daylight left for the return journey.
