If you’re staying near the fort, dropping your bags at Fortune Inn Sree Kanya first frees you to head straight to the beach. From Rushikonda, a quick 15 minute ride to Kailasagiri gives you a good sunset view before you finish the day at the zoo. Parking at the fort is free, but the beach and Kailasagiri lots fill up by noon, so arriving early helps.
