    You could start at 9 a.m. to catch the early morning buzz at the zoo, spend about 2½ hours, then walk the 15 minutes to Mysore Palace. From the palace, a short 10 minute drive takes you to Karanji Lake for a quick lake walk. If you need a place to stay nearby, the Grand Continent Mysore A Sarovar Portico Affiliate Hotel is just under a kilometre away.
