If you’re okay with a longer day, the bus from Calicut Airport to Wayanad Bus Stand runs every couple of hours, and the local bus to the trailhead takes about 90 minutes. A quick stop at Sterling Vythiri Wayanad, just half a kilometre from the bus stop, lets you refuel before heading up. This way you avoid the longer cab drive and still get decent time to rest.
