If you can spare about 3 4 hours, a quick hop on a local bus from the Velneshwar railway station will get you to the beach in roughly an hour one way. The bus stops are right next to the station and tickets are cheap, usually under ₹30. Once you’re at the beach you can walk to the nearby beachside shacks for a quick bite and a few hours of sun. If you do want a place to crash for a few hours, the Kokanwadi Resort in Dhokamale is just under 18 km away and offers budget rooms; it’s a convenient spot if you need a shower and a place to rest before heading back.
