The fort’s cannons are a hit with kids, and the sea view walk around the walls gives a good feel for the old Portuguese layout. If you’re staying near the fort, The Hotel Canoe is just a short walk away, making it easy to grab a snack before heading to Payyambalam Beach. The beach stroll is almost a mile from the fort, so you can fit both in one relaxed afternoon.
