If you have a few hours, the tea estate just outside town offers a short guided walk and a terrace café where you can taste Assam tea right away. For the Kaziranga detour, a 20 km round trip takes about three to four hours, so a quick jeep safari fits into the day. Grab a local driver from the kiosk just past the bus stop, and if you need a quick bite after the park, the Kaziranga Golf Resort in Jorhat is a convenient spot.
