Kote Gate market usually opens around 6 a.m. The first stalls you’ll see are the hand loom cotton and silk shops right inside the main gate, while the spice corner near the bazaar square is famous for fresh garam masala and cumin. If you’re staying at Jai Mahal Palace, the walk from Hawa Mahal to the market takes about fifteen minutes, so you can hit the market just before the midday rush and still have time to visit nearby Jantar Mantar. Do you plan to combine a tea stop at a nearby stall on the way?
