A typical trek to Kodachadri takes around 6 – 8 hours if you start early, so plan to leave before noon. In winter the trails are cooler and clearer, but keep an eye on sudden cold fronts. A good route is to visit the Mookambika Temple first, then hike up, and after descending head to Hidlumane Waterfalls – the 15 – km stretch is doable in a single day. Bring rain gear just in case, even in the dry season.
