From Pathankot Railway Station you can take the local bus heading toward Shahpur Kandi. It stops at the bus stand right outside the fort, so you only need a short walk from there. On the way you’ll pass the Shahpur Kandi Barrage, a nice spot for a quick photo of the river. If you’re staying in town, the Best Western La Vista Pathankot is a convenient base, just a few kilometres from the bus stop. A camera is handy for the fort’s stonework and the view of the barrage, but a phone will also do if you’re short on gear. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.
