Early sunrise around 5:30 am gives a soft glow on the Shikhar Gah walls and a clear view of the surrounding peaks. From the main temple you can walk to the nearby meditation cave about a 15 minute trek, and the light is still gentle until 7 am. If you’re staying at Zostel Pahalgam, you’ll be close enough to hit both spots before the crowds arrive. After the morning shots, the late afternoon light around 4 pm is great for capturing the mountain silhouettes against the temple’s stone façade.
