From the Kheerganga trailhead the path to the Pin Parvati ridge stays below 3500 m for the first 3 km, giving kids a gentler climb before the steeper ridge section. A stay at the Apple Orchard Resort By Royal Collection in Dhanaulti gives a comfortable base, and the trail from there is clearly marked with shaded stream crossings. Early June, around the 9th or 10th, usually offers the driest weather before the monsoon starts.
