In October the river can still be humid, so pack light cotton and a quick dry jacket for evenings when temperatures dip to the low 20s. Rain is rare but a short shower can happen in the late afternoon, so bring a small umbrella. If you’re hunting for a cooler spot, the early morning boat rides around 6 to 7 a.m. are usually the most comfortable, with the river mist giving a pleasant chill. If you stay at Poojari’s Nirantara, you’ll get a good view from the riverbank right as the day starts.
