The festival falls in March, usually the last week of the month. From Chandigarh you can take a train from the main station to Rupnagar; the journey is about an hour and the station is close to the gurdwaras. If you prefer a hotel, Hotel Sarai Bharatgarh sits just over 11 km from the town centre and is a popular choice for pilgrims.
