Late October to early November is best; the weather is cooler and the crowds thin after the Holi rush. From Mathura Junction you can hop on a local bus to the bus stand, then take an auto or shared taxi that drops you right outside the temple. If you stay at Super Collection O Mathura Near Railway Station, you’re only a half kilometre walk from the shrine, so you can head straight to the temple after breakfast.
