If you’re staying near the old fort, the Jai Mahal Palace is a convenient base. From there you can walk to Kote Gate in about 15 minutes, so you’ll hit the market just before the midday crowd. The best textiles are in the narrow lanes by the main entrance, while the spice stalls cluster near the bazaar square corner. A quick walk with a chai stop at a nearby tea stall makes the whole outing feel relaxed.
