If you want to beat the Thursday rush, leave Dimapur before 7 am. A quick taxi from The Layover Hotel gets you to Mon Town in about 30 minutes, and the market opens at 8 am, so you’ll see the stalls fresh and the crowds still light. This timing works well in early October when evenings stay cool and the festival crowds are still building.
