You can grab banana chips or idli vada packs at the kiosks in Chalakkayam until noon. If you need something more filling before you head out, the market in Athirappilly is a short drive away and sells fresh fruit and ready to eat snacks. A light breakfast at Niraamaya Retreats Samroha, about 17 km from the dam, is another option if you want a sit down meal.
