If you want to keep the drive short, you can stop at the tea estate just outside the town centre and grab a quick guided walk of about 20 minutes. The tea house there serves a light snack with the brew, which is a nice break before heading to the park. For the safari, a 20 km detour takes roughly three to four hours round trip, so you can squeeze a quick jeep ride and still return to the bus station by evening. A convenient spot for a driver is the kiosk just past the bus stop, and if you need a bite after the park, the Kaziranga Golf Resort in Jorhat is a solid option.
