If you’re planning a quick stop, aim for late March to early October when the roads stay clear and the river is flowing. In winter the valley is still beautiful but the road can be slick, and in monsoon the drive gets difficult. For a relaxed overnight you could stay at The Hosteller Tirthan Valley and wake up to a sunrise over the Tirthan River. If you’re tight on time, a midday detour before noon still lets you see the lush green and clear water without staying.
