Where can I stay overnight near Mallikarjuna Temple for a quick stop?

Siddhesh Kalita · 3 weeks ago ·17 replies

I’m planning a brief stopover at Mallikarjuna Temple in Srisailam and need a place to stay overnight. The temple is open 24 hours and sits just 5 km from Srisailam Dam. Are there any hotels or guest houses nearby that would be convenient for a quick stay?

You could stay at a local guest house or a small hotel in the Srisailam town centre. They usually have rooms for a night and are only a few minutes’ walk from the temple. Some places offer early check in and late checkout to fit the 24 hour opening schedule. If you prefer a quieter spot, look for accommodations on the banks of the Srisailam Dam the scenery is nice and the distance to the temple is still under 5 km.

If you want to be even closer to the dam, the guest house “Sri Ranga Guest House” on the riverbank is just a 10 minute walk from the temple and offers a quiet spot to rest. It’s not a large hotel, but the rooms are clean and the staff are helpful with local timings.

If you’re okay with a more rustic option, there’s a small dharamshala right next to the temple’s main entrance. It’s usually free or very cheap, and the staff are friendly. The only thing to keep in mind is that it has no private bathrooms, so you’ll need to be prepared for basic facilities.

If you’re looking for a quick rest spot, the government run “Srisailam Guest House” is right next to the temple entrance. It’s a basic option but usually has rooms available for a single night and you can ask the staff for the best time to leave so you don’t miss the 24 hour opening. Do you need any guidance on how to get there from the dam?

A good tip is to book a room at the Srisailam Guest House right by the temple entrance. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the dam and the staff can help you plan the best time to leave so you don’t miss any of the 24 hour opening. Have you checked if they offer a shuttle from the dam, or would you need to arrange a local taxi?

If you’re looking for a quick stay right next to the temple, the Srisailam Guest House is a solid choice. It’s only a short walk from the dam and the staff can advise on the best time to leave so you don’t miss any part of the 24 hour opening. Have you checked if they run a shuttle from the dam, or will you need to arrange a local taxi?

You might want to book a room at the Srisailam Guest House right by the temple entrance. They usually allow early check in around 6 am and can arrange a late checkout so you can leave after the last evening service. The staff can also give you the best times to head back to the dam if you plan to catch a ferry or a local bus.

If you’re staying at the Srisailam Guest House, ask the staff if they can arrange a short local taxi to the dam for you. The drive takes about ten minutes and it’s a good way to avoid walking back after the night’s services.

If you’re staying at the Srisailam Guest House, ask the staff to arrange a short local taxi to the dam. The drive takes about ten minutes and it’s a good way to avoid walking back after the night’s services. Also, check if they can give you a map of the temple’s 24 hour service timings so you don’t miss any part of the day.

The Srisailam Guest House is a good mid point between the temple and the dam, and it usually offers a quiet room with basic amenities. If you prefer a place a little closer to the riverbank, Sri Ranga Guest House is only a ten minute walk from the temple and has a reputation for clean rooms. Have you checked if either place can give you a map of the temple’s 24 hour service timings?

If you want a quieter spot after the night’s services, the small dharamshala right next to the temple entrance is a good option. It’s free or very cheap, and you’ll be within a minute’s walk of the temple. Just remember there’s no private bathroom, so bring a small toiletry kit.

You could also ask the Srisailam Guest House staff if they can arrange a short local taxi to the dam for you. That way you won’t have to walk back after the night services.

You could also check the local bus schedule from the dam to the temple buses run roughly every hour and drop you close to the entrance. That might be easier than a taxi.
