Quick day trip ideas near Tam Dil with only half a day?

Manav Dandekar · 3 weeks ago ·17 replies

I’m heading to Tam Dil for a quick stop but only have a half day. I’d love to check out a nearby spot without spending too much time traveling. Are there any short, scenic places within a short drive? I know Vantawng Falls is about 50 km away, and the Durtlang Hills are around 30 km. Anything else worth a quick visit?

If you’re looking for something a bit closer than Vantawng, check out the small waterfall near Khliehriat it’s only about 15 km from Tam Dil and you can walk the trail in under an hour. The view is pretty good and the walk takes you through a patch of tea gardens, so you’ll get a quick taste of the local scenery without a long drive.

You could also try the small tea garden viewpoint near Hnahthial it’s only about 20 km from Tam Dil and the drive takes under half an hour. The spot offers a panoramic view of the surrounding hills and a quiet spot for a quick photo stop. If you’re staying in Aizawl, the Urban Living (A Low Cost Hotel) is a short ride away and could be a convenient base before heading out.
