Planning a family photo shoot in Chirgaon this November

Neeraj Vyas · 13 hours ago ·6 replies

We’re planning a family photo session in Chirgaon in November. The village has lush green landscapes and apple orchards which look great for shots. Since it’s open 24 hours and free, we can shoot anytime, but we wonder what times give the best light? Also, are there any local spots or paths that would be safe and photogenic for kids?

Early November gives a soft, golden light around sunrise and again a couple of hours before sunset. Those windows give the apple trees a warm glow without harsh shadows. A safe, kid friendly walk is the path that loops through the lower orchards there are plenty of shaded spots and the trail is flat, so the kids can keep up. If you’re staying nearby, the Hotel Springfields is only a short walk from the village and has a nice terrace overlooking the fields. If you’re shooting after the golden hour, the lower orchard loop is still good because the trees give a gentle backlight. The kids will enjoy the shaded stream that runs along that path it’s flat, has no steep climbs, and the water adds a nice reflective element for photos. If you need a quick break, the terrace at Hotel Springfields offers a clear view of the orchards and is only a short walk away.

For the best light, shoot right after sunrise or about an hour before sunset; the apple trees catch a warm glow then. A safe, kid friendly route is the lower orchard loop that follows the gentle stream flat, shaded, and has a small wooden bridge that makes a nice focal point. If you need a quick break with a view, the terrace at Hotel Springfields is only a short walk away.

In late November the light is still soft but the sun rises a bit earlier, so try shooting between 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. that way the apple blossoms get a gentle backlight. For a child friendly walk, the lower orchard loop follows a shallow stream; the bridge there is a nice framing spot and the path stays level, so the kids can keep up without fuss.
