Nariman Point vs Marine Drive for a quick weekend-Which is better?

Varun Tandon · 2 weeks ago ·17 replies

I’m only free for a weekend in Mumbai and I’m torn between spending it at Nariman Point or heading straight to Marine Drive. Nariman Point gives those iconic skyline views of the Arabian Sea and is literally 24/7, while Marine Drive is just a kilometer away and is known for its long promenade and sunset walks. Which spot offers a more relaxed vibe for a quick break?

If you’re looking for a quieter spot, head to Marine Drive early in the evening. The promenade is less crowded before sunset, and you can sit on the beach and watch the boats. If you want a bit more nightlife and the skyline, stay near Trident Nariman Point; the hotel’s rooftop bar gives great views and the area stays lively after dark.

If you’re after a quieter break, the stretch of beach near the InterContinental Marine Drive is usually less busy before sunset. The walk is flat and you can sit on the sand and listen to the waves. It’s only a short walk from most mid range hotels, so you won’t miss the nightlife at Nariman Point if you decide to head back later.

If you’re looking for a quieter break, head to Marine Drive after the crowds thin out around 6 pm. The promenade is flat, and you can find a spot on the beach to watch the sunset over the Arabian Sea. It’s just a short walk from InterContinental Marine Drive, so you can drop by for a drink later if you want to stay in the area.
