Looking for cheap stay near Biraja Temple, Jajpur

Sourabh Ahluwalia · 2 weeks ago ·17 replies

I’m planning a quick visit to Biraja Temple in Jajpur and need a budget‑friendly place to stay. Most hotels I’ve seen are in Bhubaneswar, which is about 86 km away. Are there any affordable guesthouses or hostels closer to the temple? I’ll be arriving by train at Jajpur Keonjhar Road and will rely on local buses from Jajpur Bus Stand. Also, if staying in Bhubaneswar is the only option, what would be the cheapest hotels there?

If you’re willing to stay a bit farther out, the train station at Jajpur Keonjhar Road is about 8 km from the temple, and a few small guesthouses pop up near the bus stand. They’re usually shared rooms or dorms and can drop you under ₹1,200 a night. If you prefer a more reliable option, the cheapest hotels in Bhubaneswar are the 3 star ones like Hotel O Saket Homes, which still keeps the price low while offering basic amenities.

If you’re okay with a few kilometers walk, there are a handful of budget homestays around the Jajpur Bus Stand that offer simple rooms for under ₹600 a night. They’re usually shared rooms, but you can request a single if you book early. The bus from the station to the temple takes about 10 minutes, so you’ll be near the shrine by mid morning. If you decide to stay in Bhubaneswar, Hotel O Saket Homes is the cheapest 3 star option on the list.

You could try a guesthouse right next to Jajpur Bus Stand; a few hostels there offer single rooms for around ₹700 ₹900 a night. They’re usually shared rooms, but if you book early you can snag a private room. The bus from the station to the temple takes about ten minutes, so you’ll be in front of the shrine by mid morning.

You could also check the small homestay “Jajpur Guest House” near the bus stand they list single rooms for about ₹950 a night and include a shared kitchen. It’s only a 10 minute bus ride to the temple, so you’ll be back before lunch. If you decide to stay in Bhubaneswar, Hotel O Saket Homes is the most affordable 3 star option listed.

The local buses from Jajpur Bus Stand run every 15 20 minutes, so you can hop on early and reach the temple in about ten minutes. If you need a private room, the guesthouse next to the stand usually offers single rooms for around ₹950 a night, and they have a small kitchen you can use. This keeps you very close to the shrine without the long drive to Bhubaneswar.

If you decide to stay in Bhubaneswar, keep an eye on Hotel O Sunshine 2. It’s a 3 star option a bit closer than O Saket Homes and often lists rooms under ₹1,000 a night. The bus from Jajpur Bus Stand to the temple runs every 15 20 minutes, so you’ll be back by lunchtime and can still enjoy the shrine early.

I’ve heard the Sunday buses from Jajpur Bus Stand run a bit later, usually around 10 am, but they still get you to the temple by noon. If you end up staying in Bhubaneswar, Hotel O Sunshine 2 is often cheaper than the usual O Saket Homes and still offers a 3 star stay.
