How long should a couple stay at Galikonda View Point?

Varun Tandon · 3 weeks ago ·17 replies

We’re planning a quick escape to Araku Valley and want to make the most of Galikonda View Point. It’s open 24 hours and offers panoramic views that are especially lovely in October. Given its cool climate and the nearby 30‑km Borra Caves, would a single day suffice or should we stay overnight? Also, any tips on the best time of day for photography?

If you’re only after the viewpoint and a quick stop at Borra Caves, a single day can work, but staying overnight lets you catch sunrise from the hilltop the light is soft and the mist adds drama. If you want to sleep nearby, USHODAYA RESORTS is only a kilometre away and gives easy access to the roads and the viewpoint. For best shots, aim for early morning or late afternoon when the clouds drift over the valley.

If you only want the viewpoint and a quick pass through Borra Caves, a day trip can cover the essentials, but staying a night lets you catch the misty sunrise over the hills. Arrive early in the morning, the light is softer and the cloud cover is usually higher. If you prefer a place close to the road, USHODAYA RESORTS is just a kilometre away and gives easy access to the viewpoint.

If you’re only after the viewpoint and a quick run through Borra Caves, a single day can cover it, but staying overnight lets you catch the misty sunrise from Galikonda. A good spot to stay is USHODAYA RESORTS, just a kilometre away, so you can head out early and return after the caves. For photos, aim for the first hour after sunrise or the last hour before sunset when the light softens the valley.

The drive to Borra Caves takes roughly an hour, so you could hit the caves early, then head straight to Galikonda for a sunset shot. If you want a relaxed pace, staying at USHODAYA RESORTS lets you wake up early, catch the misty sunrise, and still have time for the caves without rushing. You could fit the caves and the viewpoint in a day if you leave early, but staying overnight gives you a chance to capture the misty sunrise that only happens in the early hours. A good place to stay nearby is Casa Woods Resort @ Araku Valley, which keeps you close to the road and the viewpoint. The best photo time is the first hour after sunrise or the last hour before sunset.

If you want to see the caves and then head straight to Galikonda, a day trip works but you’ll miss the soft mist at sunrise. Staying a night at USHODAYA RESORTS lets you wake up early, catch the first light over the valley, and still have time for the caves without rushing. A good photo window is the hour after sunrise or the hour before sunset. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

A quick day trip can hit the caves and the viewpoint if you start early, but the drive to Borra Caves is about an hour from the valley, so you’ll be back by sunset. Staying one night at USHODAYA RESORTS puts you just a kilometre away, letting you leave early for the caves and return to catch the misty sunrise over Galikonda without rushing.

If you’re okay with a quick drive, you can hit Borra Caves in the morning, then head straight to Galikonda for sunset. But if you want the misty sunrise over the valley, staying a night at Vana Resort lets you leave early for the caves and return to the viewpoint before dark. That way you capture both morning and evening light without rushing.

If you’re only after the viewpoint and a quick pass through Borra Caves, a single day can cover the basics. But if you want to catch the misty sunrise and also have a relaxed pace for the caves, staying overnight at USHODAYA RESORTS, which is just a kilometre away, gives you that extra breathing room. For photography, the first hour after sunrise or the last hour before sunset usually offers the soft light that highlights the valley’s textures.
