Family food ideas near Carmel Church in Port Blair

Nivedita Goel · 1 week ago ·17 replies

Looking for a place to grab a bite that works for the whole family while visiting Carmel Church? The church is open all day and free to enter, so we can spend a good chunk of time exploring nearby spots. A quick walk of about a kilometer takes us to Sagarika Emporium, which has a few stalls that could suit kids and adults alike. Any suggestions for family‑friendly restaurants or food stalls within a couple of kilometers, especially ones that offer local Andaman flavors?

If you’re looking for a quick family bite that still feels local, try the food stalls around the Sagarika Emporium area. A short walk north takes you to the “Andaman Fish Market” stalls where you can grab freshly grilled fish and coconut rice a classic Andaman combo that kids usually love. The stalls open early and stay open until late, so you can fit it into your day before heading back to the church.

You could also head to the small stall cluster near the “Andaman Fish Market” that’s a short walk from the church. They serve freshly grilled fish with coconut rice and a side of local chutney that kids usually enjoy. If you want a sit down option, the TSG Grand is only a few hundred metres away and has a small dining area that offers a mix of Andaman specialties.
