Best romantic stay near Sonamarg Valley Pass for a weekend

Sujat Srivastava · 4 weeks ago ·17 replies

We’re planning a romantic weekend at Sonamarg Valley Pass and need to pick a place to stay. ARCO Hotels has a 4‑star rating of 8.8 and is 4.46 km away, while Hotel Inter Mountain is 4.41 km away with a rating of 8.5. Thajiwas Glacier is just 3 km from the pass, so staying closer might let us catch early morning views. What do you think is the better option for a couple looking for a cozy yet accessible stay? Also, would a stay near the Sindh River give a quieter atmosphere for us?

If you want the highest rating and a bit more upscale feel, ARCO Hotels And Resorts Sonmarg is the clear pick with 8.8 stars. It’s only a few minutes farther from Thajiwas Glacier than Hotel Inter Mountain, so you’ll still catch the early morning views. Staying near the Sindh River can be quieter, but the river side is a bit farther from the pass, so you’ll trade proximity for silence. Would a shorter drive to the glacier outweigh a quieter riverside setting for you?

If the early morning glacier view is a priority, ARCO Hotels And Resorts Sonmarg keeps you just a few minutes from the pass about 4.46 km versus 4.42 km for Hotel Inter Mountain, so the difference is negligible. The higher rating also means a slightly more upscale room layout, which can feel cozier for a couple. Staying near the Sindh River would push you farther out, but the quieter riverbank setting might be worth it if you prefer a peaceful backdrop over a quick glacier hop. If you’re looking for a quiet spot that still keeps you near the glacier, consider staying a bit closer to the Sindh River. The river side is a few extra minutes from the pass, but the views of the river winding through the valley can be very peaceful. A room at ARCO Hotels And Resorts Sonmarg would give you that extra comfort while keeping the glacier just a short drive away. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

If you’re leaning toward a quieter riverside vibe, consider a stay a bit farther out there are a few options near the Sindh River that keep you within a short drive of the pass but offer a more peaceful backdrop. A room at ARCO Hotels And Resorts Sonmarg would give you a comfortable base while still letting you catch the glacier view early in the morning.

If you want a quieter stay but still close enough for early glacier views, consider a room at ARCO Hotels And Resorts Sonmarg. It’s a bit farther from the Sindh River than some other options, but the hotel’s higher rating and 4 star status usually mean better room amenities and a more peaceful atmosphere. The drive to Thajiwas Glacier is still only about four and a half kilometers, so you’ll get the best of both worlds.

You might also look at Country Inn & Suites by Radisson. It’s a touch farther at 4.7 km but still under five kilometres from Thajiwas Glacier, so you can catch the early light without a long drive. The 8.6 rating is solid, and the rooms are a bit more spacious than the 3 star options, giving a quieter vibe while staying close to the pass.

If you’re after a quieter vibe but still close to the glacier, the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson is a solid middle ground. It sits just under 4.7 km from the pass, so you’ll still catch the early light without a long drive, and its 8.6 rating shows rooms tend to be a bit larger than the 3 star options. That extra space can make a romantic stay feel more intimate.

If the glacier view is the priority, staying at ARCO Hotels And Resorts Sonmarg keeps you just a few minutes from Thajiwas Glacier while still offering a higher rating and a quieter atmosphere than the more central options. The rooms are a bit more spacious, so you’ll feel cozy without being too far from the riverbank for a peaceful evening.

If you want a quieter spot that still keeps you near the glacier, consider a room at Country Inn & Suites by Radisson. It’s a bit further from the pass than the two 4 star options but still under five kilometres, so you can catch early light without a long drive. The slightly larger rooms also give a more relaxed, intimate feel for a romantic weekend.

You might consider staying at ARCO Hotels And Resorts Sonmarg. It’s just over 4.4 km from the pass, so you’ll still catch those early glacier shots, and the higher rating usually means quieter rooms and better soundproofing for a romantic evening. If a quieter riverside vibe is more important, a slightly farther option like Country Inn & Suites by Radisson would keep you within a 5 km drive but give you a quieter backdrop. Which feels more important to you instant glacier access or a more secluded setting?

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson sits a bit farther about 4.7 km from the pass so the drive to Thajiwas Glacier is still short, but its rooms are slightly larger than the 4 star options. If a quieter riverside backdrop is more important, that extra 0.3 km could give you a more peaceful evening while still keeping the glacier in sight.
