If you’re staying near Bylakuppe, the best way to taste authentic Tibetan food is to wander into the village itself. The small stalls around the central square usually serve momos, thukpa, and yak cheese at reasonable prices. You can also ask locals for a quick walk to the nearby temple area where a few eateries serve more elaborate dishes. If you’re willing to drive a bit, Dubare has a couple of small restaurants that cater to tourists and still keep the Tibetan flavor, but the village stalls tend to be fresher and more traditional. Have you checked out the stalls near the Bylakuppe central market?
