Family day at Shekhawati Havelis on a budget – any tips?

Ketaki Mann · 2 days ago ·8 replies

I’m planning a family visit to the Shekhawati Havelis and want to keep costs low. The havelis are free to enter for everyone and open all day, so that’s a plus. For a family with kids, do the guided tours come included or is that extra? Also, which nearby accommodation, like something near Mandawa, is budget‑friendly and still close enough to walk or take a short cab ride?

Guided tours are not included with the free entry you’ll have to pay a small fee if you want a guide. If you’re looking for a budget stay that’s close enough to walk or hop in a cab, the Vivaana Culture Hotel in Mandawa is a solid option. It’s about 22 km from the main havelis, but local taxis can get you there in roughly 30 minutes.

Guided tours cost a small fee, usually around ₹200 ₹300 per person. Some local guides offer a family pass, so you might get a discount if you bring kids. If you’re staying near Mandawa, the Vivaana Culture Hotel is a good budget choice and taxis can drop you right at the main haveli area.

You can get a family pass for the guided tour some local guides offer a discount if you bring kids, usually a little less than ₹200 per person. If you stay at Vivaana Culture Hotel in Mandawa, you’re only about a 30 minute cab ride from the main haveli area, and the hotel has a good rating of 8.8. Do you need tips on how to book a family guide in advance?

You can book a family guided tour in advance; some local operators give a small discount for kids, often around ₹1,800 per child. If you stay at Vivaana Culture Hotel, the hotel’s front desk can help arrange a guide and confirm the exact rate for a family pass.

You can also book a family guided tour through the hotel’s front desk; they usually have a list of certified guides and can arrange a pass at a slightly lower rate if you bring kids. The Vivaana Culture Hotel is only about 22 km from the main haveli cluster, so a short cab ride or a local bus gets you there in roughly half an hour. If you prefer walking, the hotel is a 45 minute stroll away, which can be a fun way to explore the surrounding streets. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.
