How to budget‑travel from Keonjhar to Badaghagara Waterfall for a weekend?

Dnyanesh Goel · 2 hours ago ·5 replies

I’m planning a quick weekend trip from Keonjhar town to Badaghagara Waterfall and want a cheap route. The waterfall is free to enter and open 24 hours, so I’m mainly looking at transport and any other nearby spots I can hit without extra cost. Are there any budget-friendly bus or cab options that would take me from Keonjhar Railway Station or Keonjhar Bus Stand to the waterfall, and can I combine a stop at Sanaghagara Waterfall (just 5 km away) or Gonasika Temple along the way?

You could hop on a local bus from Keonjhar Bus Stand to the village near Badaghagara; the route usually stops at Sanaghagara 5 km away, so you can drop by that waterfall first. From there, a short walk or a shared auto will take you to Gonasika Temple. If you want a place to rest before heading back, HOTEL SRI is only about 2.5 km from the station and offers basic rooms at a low rate.

You can catch the local bus from Keonjhar Bus Stand that stops at the village near Badaghagara. The same bus drops you off at Sanaghagara, so you can hop off there first. After visiting the waterfall, a shared auto or a short walk will take you to Gonasika Temple. If you need a quick rest before heading back, HOTEL SRI is just a couple of kilometres from the station and offers very basic rooms at a low rate. Does anyone know if the bus schedule changes on weekends?
