Quick photography route through Serchhip while passing through

Jatin Shukla · 4 hours ago ·6 replies

While driving through Serchhip on my way to Aizawl I want a quick photography loop that captures the best scenic spots. I know the park, Ngentiang Waterfalls, and the Tiau River are popular, but I’m unsure of the order and distance between them. Could anyone suggest a route that starts near the Serchhip Bus Station, hits the waterfalls and river, then ends at the park, keeping travel time minimal? Also, is the Serchhip Church worth a detour for a shot?

A good loop is to start at the Serchhip Bus Station, head east to Ngentiang Waterfalls (about 10 km), then turn south toward the Tiau River (another 8 km). From there you can loop back north to the park, which is roughly 12 km from the river. The total drive is under 30 km and takes around 1½ hours. The Serchhip Church sits just a few hundred metres from the bus station, so a quick stop for a shot is easy and won’t add much time.

You could head straight east from the bus station to Ngentiang Waterfalls, then turn south to the Tiau River. From there a quick northward drive brings you to the park. The whole loop is under 30 km, so you’ll be back by sunset. If you’re already near the bus station, the Serchhip Church is a short detour that gives a nice architectural shot, and it won’t add much time. If you want a place to stay afterward, Hotel Dinthar Zara in Aizawl is a short drive away.

If you want a quick stop after the waterfalls, the Serchhip Church is only a few minutes from the bus station, so you can get a nice shot before heading east. From the church you can turn east to Ngentiang Waterfalls, then south to the Tiau River, and finally back north to the park. The loop stays under 30 km, so you’ll finish before dark. If you’re heading back to Aizawl afterward, Hotel Dinthar Zara is a convenient choice.

A quick tweak to the loop is to hit Ngentiang Waterfalls first, then head south to the Tiau River, and finish north at the park. That keeps the total drive under 30 km. If you’re already near the bus station, the Serchhip Church is a few minutes away and offers a nice angle of the old stone façade before you turn east. After the park you could head to Aizawl and check into Hotel Dinthar Zara for a relaxed stay.

The church is only about 0.5 km from the bus station, so you can snap a quick shot and head straight east to Ngentiang Waterfalls. From there the road to the Tiau River runs roughly parallel and is about 8 km, then a short northward drive of 12 km brings you back to the park. If you’re staying overnight, Hotel Dinthar Zara in Aizawl is a convenient option.

The park sits about 12 km north of the Tiau River, which is roughly 8 km south of Ngentiang Waterfalls. The church is just 0.5 km from the bus station, so a quick stop won’t add much time.
