Which activities are best for a family visiting Nandi Hills in October?

Naksh Lobo · 3 hours ago ·5 replies

I’m planning a short family trip to Nandi Hills this October and want to make the most of the time there. The place is open 24 hours and free for everyone, which is great for a weekend getaway. We’re hoping to find activities that are enjoyable for kids and adults alike. Is sunrise viewing still a good option, or would trekking or cycling be more suitable? Also, are there any nearby spots like Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace that we should add to our itinerary?

Sunrise is still a hit the early light is crisp and the crowds are thin, which is great for kids who can run around a bit. After that, a gentle bike ride around the ridge gives everyone a quick workout and a good view of the surrounding forests. If you want a cultural stop, the Tipu Sultan Summer Palace is just a short drive away and offers a glimpse of local history that the whole family can enjoy. For a comfortable base, the Mulberry Shades Bengaluru Nandi Hills a Tribute Portfolio Resort is a solid choice.

If you’re heading up early for the sunrise, you can catch the first light before the main crowd arrives and then keep the kids moving with a short, gentle walk around the ridge. The trails are mostly flat and there are a few lookout points that offer a quick photo stop. Afterward, you could head down to the nearby golf course at the JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa; it has a well maintained path that’s easy for families to stroll or bike on. That gives you a nice mix of scenery and a place to relax before heading back to Bangalore.

You could also stop at the Nandi Viewpoint near the ridge it’s a quick walk and offers a panoramic view of the whole hill area, which kids love to photograph. If you’re looking for a relaxed break after cycling, the nearby tea garden on the ridge has benches and a small snack shop that serves local chai and biscuits, making it a nice spot to recharge before heading back.

If you’re up for a bit of exercise, a quick 20 minute walk to the Nandi Viewpoint gives kids a chance to snap panoramic shots while adults enjoy the breeze. After that, the tea garden on the ridge is a calm spot for a light snack and a break before heading back.
