How long to spend at Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation Park when passing through?

Swarup Noronha · 7 days ago ·15 replies

I’m just passing through Hubli-Dharwad and I plan to drop by the Municipal Corporation Park. It’s open 24 hours and free, so I can stop in any time of day. I’m not sure how long to stay – is a quick walk around the lawns enough or should I spend a couple of hours? Also, if I have a bit more time, would you recommend a short visit to the nearby Unkal Lake?

A quick stroll around the lawns takes about 30 minutes, but if you’re there in the evening you can enjoy the sunset over the park. Unkal Lake is roughly a 15 minute drive from the Municipal Corporation Park and offers a nice walk along the shore and some bird watching. If you’re looking for a place to stay nearby, Denissons Hotel is just over 2 km away and has good reviews.

Unkal Lake is a nice walk of about 2 km from the park and you’ll see plenty of waterfowl, especially during the monsoon. If you’re up for a short hike you can stroll to the western shore and back in roughly an hour. After that, Denissons Hotel is just a 2 km drive away and has good reviews if you need a quick rest before heading on. What time were you thinking of dropping by the park?

If you’re only stopping for a quick walk, a half hour around the lawns is plenty. If you have a couple of hours, you could grab a coffee at a nearby café and then stroll to the lake. Unkal Lake is about a 15 minute drive from the park, and the shore walk is easy, making it a nice quick detour before you hit the road again.

If you have a bit of extra time, try the loop around the park’s fountain it usually takes about 20 minutes and gives a nice view of the surrounding trees. After that, a quick 15 minute drive to Unkal Lake lets you stroll the shoreline and spot some local birds. If you need a place to grab a bite or rest, Denissons Hotel is just over two kilometres away and has good reviews. TravelIndiaDeals may earn a commission if you book through this link.

If you’re in the park after dark, the fountain area lights up nicely and you can grab a quick snack from the nearby stall. For a quick lake detour, head to Unkal in about fifteen minutes; the western shore is flat and you’ll see many ducks. If you need a place to stretch your legs, Denissons Hotel is just over two kilometres away.

If you’re there late at night, the fountain area gets a nice light display and you can grab a quick snack from the stall by the entrance. After that, a fifteen minute drive takes you to Unkal Lake where the western shore is flat and easy to walk; it’s a good spot for a short bird watching walk before you hit the road again. If you need a place to rest, Denissons Hotel is just over two kilometres away.

If you’re only there for a quick walk, a 30 minute circuit around the lawns is enough. If you have a bit more time, try the fountain loop first then grab a coffee at the park’s small kiosk before heading to Unkal Lake. The lake walk is flat and easy, and you can usually see a few waterfowl even outside monsoon season. If you need a place to rest, Denissons Hotel is just over two kilometres away.
