Quick family route for a day visit to Sanjan Bagh and nearby spots?

Tushar Vasishth · 2 weeks ago ·17 replies

Looking for a quick family day trip that includes Sanjan Bagh and any nearby attractions. Since it’s open 24/7 and free, we could start early from Bhopal. Do you have a suggested route that fits into a single day? Also, is it realistic to add Bhimbetka or Sanchi within that window?

You could leave around 5 am, hit Sanjan Bagh first to beat the crowds, then head to the Sanchi stupas which are only about 20 km away. From there, drive to Bhimbetka, roughly another 30 km, and you’ll finish around 5 pm. If you want a place to drop your bags after the day, Hotel Morya Meghdoot is only 0.4 km from the city centre, so it’s a convenient base.

If you head to Sanjan Bagh first, you can catch the early morning light and beat the crowds. After that, a quick drive to Sanchi gives you the stupas before lunch, and you’ll still have time to snap photos of the Bhimbetka rock shelters in the late afternoon. A convenient stop for a break is Hotel Morya Meghdoot, just a few minutes from the city centre.

You could start at Sanjan Bagh around 6 am, then head to Sanchi for the stupas before lunch. A quick 30 km drive gets you to Bhimbetka by late afternoon, where the rock shelters are still open. If you need a place to drop off bags after the day, Hotel Morya Meghdoot is just a few minutes from the city centre.

You could leave Bhopal around 5 am, reach Sanjan Bagh by 6, then head to Sanchi right after lunch. The stupas open at 9 am and close around 5 pm, so you’ll have a few hours there. From Sanchi, a quick 30 km drive takes you to Bhimbetka; the rock shelters stay open until 5 pm, giving you a late afternoon visit. If you need a place to drop bags before heading back, Hotel Morya Meghdoot is just a few minutes from the city centre.

If you want to squeeze everything, start at Sanchi early its stupas are about 20 km from Bhopal, so you’ll hit them before lunch. After a quick lunch, head to Sanjan Bagh, then finish the day at Bhimbetka, which is another 30 km. A quick stop at Hotel Morya Meghdoot near the city centre gives you a place to drop off bags before the drive home.

A good tweak is to hit Sanchi first after leaving Bhopal around 6 am. The stupas open at 9 am so you’ll avoid the midday crowd, then you can swing to Sanjan Bagh for a late morning walk and finish at Bhimbetka before sunset. If you need a place to drop your bags before heading back, Hotel Morya Meghdoot is only a few minutes from the city centre.

You could start at Sanjan Bagh right after sunrise, then head to the Sanchi museum before the stupas open at 9 am. A quick lunch around the Sanchi visitor centre keeps you on schedule, and the Bhimbetka rock shelters are still open until 5 pm. If you need a place to drop your bags before the drive back, Hotel Morya Meghdoot is just a few minutes from the city centre. What time would you prefer to leave Bhopal?

If you’re short on time, start at Sanjan Bagh right after dawn, then head straight to Sanchi for the stupas before lunch. From there, a quick 30 km drive gets you to Bhimbetka before dusk. If you need a quick layover for freshening up, Hotel Morya Meghdoot is only a few minutes from the city centre.

You could start at Sanjan Bagh at sunrise, then head straight to the Sanchi stupas for a quick visit before lunch. After that, drive to Bhimbetka for a late afternoon walk through the rock shelters. If you need a place to freshen up before heading back, a stop at Hotel Morya Meghdoot right in the city centre works well.

A quick detour to the Sanchi visitor centre before the stupas open can give you a relaxed lunch break; the centre has a small cafeteria and the drive from Sanjan Bagh is only about 20 km. From there you can hit the rock shelters at Bhimbetka in the late afternoon, which are still open until 5 pm. If you need a place to drop off bags before heading back, Hotel Morya Meghdoot is just a few minutes from the city centre.

You could also stop by the Sanchi visitor centre first; it has a small cafeteria and a free guide map, so you can grab lunch before the stupas open at 9 am. After Bhimbetka, if you want a quick place to freshen up, Hotel Morya Meghdoot is only a few minutes from the city centre. Does that fit with your kids’ nap schedule?

You could hit the Sanchi visitor centre first; it opens at 9 am and has a small cafeteria so you can grab a quick lunch before the stupas open. That gives you a relaxed break and keeps the rest of the day on schedule. How early are you thinking of leaving Bhopal?
