Late afternoon arrival at Vizag Beach-how does the food compare to Rishikonda Beach?

Rahul Panchal · 3 weeks ago ·17 replies

I’m arriving at Vizag Beach around 4 pm and looking for a good bite-how does the food scene there compare to that at Rishikonda Beach? Vizag Beach is open all day and sits on golden sands, while Rishikonda Beach is 8 km away and also known for beachside food stalls. I’m curious whether the stalls at Vizag stay open into the evening and if they offer better seafood options than Rishikonda. Also, are there any local seafood stalls near the Submarine Museum that are worth checking out after the sun sets?

If you’re looking for a spot right by the Submarine Museum, there’s a small cluster of stalls on the promenade that usually stay open until sunset. They serve fresh grilled fish and a few local snacks that are a bit lighter than the larger beachside stalls. The vibe is a bit quieter than on Vizag Beach, so you’ll get a good chance to enjoy the evening breeze without the crowds.

You’ll find most stalls on Vizag Beach stay open until around sunset, so you can still snag fresh grilled fish after 6 pm. The seafood there is comparable to Rishikonda, though Vizag’s stalls tend to have a slightly wider variety of shellfish. If you’re near the Submarine Museum, the small cluster on the promenade is a quiet spot for a late evening bite. A nearby stay like Best Western Plus Tejvivaan puts you close to both the beach and the museum.

The stalls right next to the Submarine Museum usually stay open until about 8 pm, so you can grab grilled prawns or a spicy fish fry after sunset. If you’re staying near the beach, the Best Western Plus Tejvivaan puts you a short walk from both Vizag Beach and the museum, making it easy to hop between the two food spots.

Rishikonda’s stalls usually close a bit earlier than the ones on Vizag Beach, so if you’re staying late you’ll find more options on Vizag. After sunset the small cluster right on the promenade near the Submarine Museum keeps going until about 8 pm, so that’s a good fallback if the beach stalls are already shut. Do you have a particular dish in mind, or are you just looking for the freshest fish on the board?

The Vizag stalls that stay open until about 8 pm often switch to grilled crab later in the evening, which you rarely see at Rishikonda. If you’re near the Submarine Museum, the promenade cluster is a quiet spot to try that crab after the main beach stalls close.
