What to know before visiting Charan Paduka Temple in September?

The Charan Paduka Temple is open 24 hours and is believed to be the spot where Lord Vishnu’s footprints are imprinted on a rock. It sits about 5 km from Shankaracharya Temple and 10 km from Dal Lake, so I can combine a visit with those sights. I’m planning to go in September, but the temple’s best‑visit months are March, April, October, and November – does that change anything for September travelers? Also, should I arrive early in the morning to catch the mountain views before the crowds, or is midday fine for prayers?

September is still warm enough for a comfortable visit, but the mornings are cooler and the light on the mountains is nicer. Arriving early lets you see the sunrise over the valley before the crowds grow, and you’ll still have time for prayers. If you stay at Hotel O POP Foreshore Resort, you’re only about two kilometres from the temple, so a short drive gets you there in under ten minutes.
