I’m planning a day out to Ratnagiri Lighthouse and would love to swing by Mandvi Beach as well. The lighthouse is open all day and is best visited between October and December for the scenic sunsets. Since it’s only about 2 km from Mandvi Beach, I’m wondering what the best sequence would be – start with the lighthouse and finish at the beach or vice versa? Also, what’s the most convenient way to get there from Ratnagiri Airport or the bus stand? Any tips on timing, local transport, or must‑see spots in between would be appreciated!
If you’re looking to catch the sunrise, head straight to Ratnagiri Lighthouse first – it’s usually less crowded in the morning. Then walk the 2 km to Mandvi Beach, stopping at the little fishing village on the way for some local snacks. From Ratnagiri Airport or the bus stand, a short auto – rickshaw ride gets you to the lighthouse, and you can walk or hop on a shared taxi for the beach. Arrive by 6 or 7 a.m. to avoid the midday heat and get the best light for photos.
