Best way to get to Tue‑Khomi Village from Dimapur for a weekend trip?

Tariq Gogoi · 1 month ago ·20 replies

I’m planning a quick weekend to Tue‑Khomi Village and need to know the best route from Dimapur. Cab services are available directly from Dimapur and Kohima, so should I book a taxi straight to the village or take the bus to Kohima first? Also, is it easier to travel by train to Dimapur Railway Station and then hop on a local cab? Finally, how long does the drive usually take?

If you’re already in Dimapur, a direct cab to Khomi Village is usually the quickest. The road is about 45 50 kilometres and takes roughly 1½ to 2 hours depending on traffic. Buses to Kohima run regularly, but you’d still need to catch a local minibus or shared taxi from Kohima to the village, adding time and a stop. If you prefer a more comfortable ride, book the Dimapur to Khomi service; it’s more reliable on a weekend. If you happen to stay near the city, the Niraamaya Retreats Aradura Kohima is a good base for the next day’s trip.

If you’re heading straight from Dimapur, a dedicated cab to Khomi Village is usually the fastest. The 45 50 km stretch takes about 1½ to 2 hours, and you avoid the extra stop in Kohima. If you prefer a more scenic route, you can take a train to Dimapur Railway Station and then book a local cab; the train ride itself is about an hour and the cab from the station is similar in time to the direct service.

If you’re already in Dimapur, a direct cab to Khomi is the simplest it’s about 50 km and usually takes 1½ to 2 hours. Buses to Kohima add a stop and a second transfer, so you’ll end up spending extra time. The Dimapur Railway Station has a regular hourly service; the train ride itself is about an hour, after which a local cab takes the same 1½ hour drive. If you need a place to stay near Kohima before heading out, the Niraamaya Retreats Aradura Kohima is a solid option.

If you prefer a stopover, you could head to Kohima first and stay at the Niraamaya Retreats Aradura Kohima, then catch a shared taxi the next morning. The train to Dimapur takes an hour, after which the cab time stays the same.

If you’re staying near Dimapur, a direct cab is still the quickest. The 45 50 km stretch normally takes about 1½ to 2 hours. If you prefer a stop in Kohima, you could book a room at Niraamaya Retreats Aradura Kohima and catch a shared taxi the next morning. That way you avoid the extra transfer and still get a comfortable base before heading to Khomi.

If you’re already in Dimapur, the quickest way is a direct cab to Khomi Village the 45 50 km drive takes about 1½ to 2 hours. If you’d rather stop in Kohima first, you could stay at Niraamaya Retreats Aradura Kohima and catch a shared taxi the next morning; that adds a night but keeps the last leg short. The train to Dimapur takes about an hour, and the cab from the station is the same distance as the direct route.

If you’re already in Dimapur, a direct cab to Khomi Village is the most time saving option the 45 50 km drive usually takes about 1½ to 2 hours. The train to Dimapur takes roughly an hour, after which the cab time stays the same, so the overall journey length is similar. If you’d rather break up the trip, staying overnight at Niraamaya Retreats Aradura Kohima and catching a shared taxi the next morning keeps the last leg short. If you’re already at Dimapur Railway Station the cab to Khomi Village is the same 45 50 km stretch as the direct service from the city centre, so you won’t gain much time by taking the train first. The only difference is the extra 10 15 minutes to reach the station. If you do want a stopover in Kohima, booking a room at Niraamaya Retreats Aradura Kohima gives you a comfortable base before heading out the next morning. Have you looked at the train timetable to see if an early departure fits your schedule?

If you’re leaving Dimapur after work, the cab that drops you straight at the village is usually the most convenient. The 45 50 km stretch takes about 1½ to 2 hours, and you avoid the extra stop in Kohima. If you’d rather have a night in Kohima, staying at Niraamaya Retreats Aradura Kohima gives you a comfortable base and you can catch a shared taxi the next morning, keeping the final leg short. The train to Dimapur takes roughly an hour, but the cab from the station is the same distance as the direct service, so the total travel time is almost unchanged. Do you have a preferred time of day for the departure?
